Enrichment Activities

There is a breathtaking range of activity at KEGS that takes place beyond the classroom. In sport, we run regular fixtures on Saturdays for all age-groups, in rugby, football and cricket. There are also opportunities to be involved in tennis, squash, basketball, cycling, athletics and annual skiing and water-sports trips.

In the arts, we run a senior orchestra, junior orchestra, wind band, chamber ensemble and choir with termly concerts of an exceptionally high standard. A wide range of instruments can be learned through the school with many beginners graduating to the Senior Orchestra over time. Drama is a great strength with several small productions and one full-scale production each year. Recent examples ‘Joseph’ and Cole Porter’s ‘Anything Goes’ were spectacular!

The Combined Cadet Force (CCF) has a large, flourishing 150-strong contingent, recruiting students from Year 8 upwards, providing excellent opportunities for outdoor adventure and leadership development. The Duke of Edinburgh Awards scheme is equally popular allowing students to reach Silver and even Gold Award level during their time at KEGS. There are also many other clubs and societies including the Eco-School group, Amnesty and Fair Trade groups, chess, debating, quiz teams, Model United Nations and a very busy Charities Committee that organises events throughout the year.
