Specialist Teaching

One of the great joys of working at KEGS is that teachers are able to fully engage students in learning about their subjects at a deep level. The standards of behaviour at KEGS are very high and lessons can move along at a swift pace - if that is desired - or, indeed, a slower pace that allows for deeper analysis or reflection. Teaching the most able students effectively, does demand a level of subject knowledge that enables teachers to ask ever more probing questions and to respond to challenging questions froms students in addition to preparing them for the highest level of exam success. KEGS teachers relish this opportunity and the students and parents regularly pass comment on the expertise of KEGS staff. Every department is equipped with resources that facilitate specialist teaching including dedicated suites of classrooms and extensive IT resources that can be shared with students on the network.

In every year group there are students who are inspired to pursue similar passions to the teaching staff resulting in extensive teacher-student collaborations from music and art, to engineering and science and to politics and languages. The range of subjects chosen for study at university is a testament to the breadth of the curriculum at KEGS and the specialist teaching that takes place.
